더크 기어랫츠(Geeraerts, Dirk)루뱅대학의 언어학 교수이며, Quantitative Lexicology and Variational Linguistics의 연구소장이다. 그는 Cognitive Linguistics의 창립 편집자로서, 인지언어학을 국제적으로 확장하는 데 중요한 역할을 했으며, 1993년 국제인지언어학 학술대회를 조직했으며, 1999년부터 2001년까지 국제인지언어학회의 회장이었다. 그는 Paradigm and Paradox(1985), The Structure of Lexical Variation 1994), Diachronic Prototype Semantics(1997), Words and Other Wonders 2006), Theories of Lexical Semantics(2010)를 집필한 바 있다.
