데버러 존스턴(Deborah Johnston)런던 대학교 아시아·아프리카 대학(SOAS) 발전경제학 전임교수이다. 노동시장과 빈곤에 대해 연구하고 있으며 영국, 러시아, 아프리카 국가들의 자문을 맡고 있다. 논문으로는 “Searching for a Weapon of Mass Production in Rural Africa: Unconvincing Arguments for Land Reform”, Journal of Agrarian Change(2004, 공저) 등이 있다. 대표작
